Success through People | Dr. Judith M. Bardwick | President | Judith M. Bardwick
This document is the soft copy of the presentation by Dr. Judith M. Bardwick. It is a big mistake to take people for granted or assume they're stupid or ignorant. You can't fool most of the people over a long time. Successful organizations don't say employees are a very important resource and act as though the people are disposable. The knowledge and skills of employees at all levels must be fully utilized and employees must be strongly motivated to do their best and be the best.
Financial success is the result of collaboration. The highest rates of productivity, innovation and teamwork result from mutual shared values, respect and Trust. Management and employees must realize that results depend on the performance of everyone which is why the organization's culture has to emphasize the importance of sharing knowledge in order to achieve excellence.
We know the environment we live and work in is continuously changing faster and faster in a digital world where there are no boundaries. The result is success gets harder to achieve as the number of competitors increases. That is the basic reason why effective and major innovation is characteristic of every successful business. Underlying innovation is people have to be free to think and perceive differently. That freedom is the basis of being able come up with new perspectives and solutions.
The basic idea of how to effectively manage people is very old and very simple: treat people the way you would like to be treated. Which organization makes more money - one in which people feel there's nothing here for me so I'm getting out of here!- or one where people say, this is a great place to work and I'm proud to be part of it! How people feel directly influences what they do. Heart always matters more than head.
When employees are seen as a valuable resource and commitments made to them are kept, the business retains its employees and its customers. The result of employees feeling they belong, they are valued, they're respected and they have a future in the organization leads to high motivation, retention, engagement and profits. Loyalty down creates loyalty up. That's the way you win!
What you learn:
If you are an owner, executive, or manager who wants to improve employee performance and profits, you will learn:
- How to create higher levels of employee Engagement?
- How to create the new more effective style of managing?
- How to select managers who will motivate employees?
- How to increase employees enthusiasm to be excellent?
- How to know the difference between really performing and just putting in time?
- How to increase employees loyalty?
How to Sustainably Improve Organizational Performance | William Powell | Human Flourishing Advocate | The Leadership Advisor
This document is the soft copy of the presentation by William Powell. Most times leadership, culture, and engagement are addressed individually - almost vacuous of one another. Often times the Leadership Development team (or the executive team) owns leadership and has a list of projects or initiatives they manage. Then the Organization Development team, or some other HR center of expertise, will address culture issues or lead a culture transformation project. Finally, HR typically owns the engagement survey data and any action plans associated with it. The problem: these 3 areas rarely collaborate and interface with one another in action, but are intrinsically interdependent by nature.What if you could address all three of them simultaneously in a way that had a positive impact on your organizational performance AND honored the human being at the same time? This Webinar will give you strategic insight into how leadership, culture & engagement naturally fit together. It also explores how you can use these organic relationships to improve organizational performance and honor the human beings that make it all possible.
What you learn:
- Develop a clear understanding of how leadership, culture, and engagement organically fit together.
- Gain insight into how the relational connectors between each of these elements are critical to successful performance in any organization.
- Learn how to apply a framework that improves overall organizational performance AND fosters human flourishing.

In both private and public sectors, the key to building a successful organization is to create a vision-guided, values-driven culture; one that creates employee engagement, customer loyalty and societal goodwill. 'How to Manage for Best Triple Bottom Line Performance | Peter Burgess | Founder CEO | TrueValueMetrics
This document is the soft copy of the presentation by Peter Burgess.
In this webinar, any and all issues in our global economy will be in play. The bad news is that there are some important problems that need to be addressed. The good news is that there is amazing technology and a growing number of major organizations that are starting to use their management and operational capacity to implement changes that will make the world a better place.
While much of the academic teaching about management has a singular focus on the profit dimension of business, in practice management is more complicated. Typical corporate management accounting and systems are inward looking but this is not going to sufficient for success in the future.
Successful big business organizations have to find ways to optimize performance to suit the 21st Century. This requires some radical rethinking about the metrics of management. A start is to manage to optimize the Triple bottom Line ... Profit / People / Planet ... and the TrueValueMetrics.org initiative to design and deploy Multi Dimension Impact Accounting (MDIA) is a foundation for these new metrics.
What will you learn?
- Why: Global economic dysfunction does not reflect the amazing possibilities that are enabled by modern technology;
- What: The challenge is to optimize performance to suit the 21st Century. This requires some radical rethinking of the metrics of management;
- How: The Triple bottom Line ... Profit / People / Planet ... is a start in this direction and the TrueValueMetric.org initiative is both radical and practical.
