This COP is about good practice in supporting the personal growth, retention and advancement of talented employees. It draws upon the latest research internationally to highlight good practice and new thinking in areas such as mentoring programme design, team coaching, creating a coaching culture and applying complex, adaptive systems approaches to talent management.

If coaching is about helping someone with the quality of their thinking and reflection, then the highest skills have to relate to creating the environment where this can happen. These include empathy, humility, listening and the timing of insight-rpovoking questions.
